I have always been an athletic person but never seemed to find a workout routine I was happy with on a regular basis. Well, I am thrilled to say that for the past 6 months I have found yoga and most importantly, Sara's Yoga Life Studio. I enjoy going to Sara's classes at least 2 times per week, and I find that I arrange my weekly schedule so as not to miss it!

When I walk in the door I am always greeted by Sara and feel comfortable, relaxed and ready to challenge my mind and body with the practice of yoga. After class I feel wonderful and I can see changes in my body's strength and flexibility. My life has been opened up to many new avenues with the experience of yoga that I hope to continue to explore and grow with for a lifetime.

When I leave Sara's Serenity Yoga class, I feel refreshed, strengthened, and at peace. Sara understands her student's limitations, and is quick to demonstrate alternative positions. I find that my flexibility is improving, and best of all, Sara's positive affirmations stay with me throughout the week.

I am not your typical yogi. I barely remember hearing about yoga, much less knowing anything about it before I stepped into Yoga Life Studio in March 2005. Sara and all of the teachers at Yoga Life emphasized one thing that made me realize this was for me: Yoga is an individual practice-no judgement, no expectations...they taught me self-acceptance while challenging my edge from the start.

When I started yoga I was about 40 lbs. overweight and I was very inflexible. I wobbled in my ankle-high tree pose, fell over during half moon, and holding my leg straight with a toe bind was out of the question! But, as I mentioned earlier, I accepted where I was in the practice and came back ready to challenge myself just a little bit more each time.

It didn't take long before I started noticing changes. I began trying the more challenging versions of the poses, simply to see how far off I was. I really enjoyed going to Yogilates because with each session I knew my body was quickly gaining strength. With the newfound strength and flexibility, coupled with a 10-pound weight loss, I really believed that my body was adjusting to my new favorite form of exercise.

A year and a half into yoga I still loved it. I was getting better at it! I had muscle tone like never before. I felt strong everyday. Since I lost another 10-pounds, I needed new clothes because everything fell off! I began going to Ashtanga and loved how quickly I saw improvements! Week by week I could see a difference in my body.

Yoga has taken me on a consistent, steady course of success. It is a little like painting a masterpiece only a few masterful brushstrokes every time...in the end resulting in a piece pleasing to the soul.

I am very grateful for everyone at Yoga Life-Sara, Casey, Tricia, Sharla, Misty, Stacy and Sati... With their knowledge of yoga, patience, and message of self-love, they continue to guide me on a journey of health andharmony in my life!

MONIQUE RIGBY

When I began practicing yoga this past March at "Yoga Life" I lacked the strength and flexibility to properly cope with my back injury on a daily basis. However, as of today I have lost nearly 40 pounds and my level of strength, flexibility and overall endurance has increased substantially. I have also found that power yoga is a wonderful way to relieve stress and increase energy.

What began as an alternative to physical therapy, following my injury, has developed into a way of life for me and I continue to attend classes because I enjoy the practice of yoga.

I have been a member of Yoga Life studio for the past 10 months. At first, yoga was getting me into the best shape of my life with long lean, strong muscles without any bulk. Then, I became pregnant and my practice took on a whole new meaning. Now I have enjoyed the multitude of benefits yoga has to offer while being pregnant. Yoga has helped me keep my spine in proper alignment-reducing a large portion of my pregnancy pain and discomfort.

All of the instructors at Yoga Life studio have kept me well informed of contra-indications and modifications throughout my pregnancy enabling me to continue to practice at regular classes.

Yoga Life is truly a wonderful place to get in the best shape of your life or continue to retain most of your shape and strength while your body is going through the swift changes of pregnancy. Thank you everyone at Yoga Life. You have made a huge difference in my pregnancy journey.
